Unveiling the Story

A hauntingly fragile figure of a child stands barefoot inside an old, rusted birdcage, illuminated by pale moonlight in a cemetery. Their doll-like eyes are lifeless, their hands clasped tightly in front of them, evoking a deep sense of sorrow and captivity. Dressed in a tattered hooded cloak, the child holds a lantern, while scattered skulls and pumpkins decorate the ground around the cage. Rain pours down, enhancing the dark, eerie atmosphere of abandonment and powerlessness. This is a poignant depiction of the Zombie Kids, symbolising emotional suppression, control, and a tragic loss of agency.

  1. Obviously, this is a sad and disturbing image, but I feel a small, sad sense of relief and recognition as I gaze at it, as I feel I have some of these inside. You don’t gloss over anything, yet by making this depiction, you not only take a stand for truth, you honor the zombie child—in yous and anyone/anymany who relates—with recognition, so they are no longer negated or alone.

    • Thank you, it means a lot. The grown ups always tell us that we are very dark. but they say it’s ok. They say it’s better to let it out than to let it fester … and it helps a little 🤍
