Shade’s Burden

Author: Teo and Alex

Unveiling the Story

This image captures what Teo believes Shade looks like—a poignant mix of sadness and love. Shade stands in a dimly lit cave, dressed in tattered clothing that conveys both vulnerability and resilience. Behind him, Fury, his anger personified, is trapped in a small cage that hangs heavily from his back. The background is haunting, with flickering flames illuminating the cavern’s oppressive darkness, mirroring Shade’s internal struggles.

The image is powerful because it perfectly encapsulates Shade’s emotional state—burdened yet loving, isolated yet enduring. However, it wasn’t used for the poem because the cage is too small to represent Fury’s strength, and the same character couldn’t convincingly transition to the second image, where Fury is freed.

This artwork still stands out as a vivid representation of Shade and Fury’s dynamic, making it a key part of the behind-the-scenes journey for “Fury and I.”
